Creative Arts Therapy emphasises the importance of having a relationship with the visual and sensory world. Being in creative mode allows a person to be in the present moment, preventing the mind from thinking about the past or worrying about the future, attending to emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual well-being.

Art Therapy is appropriate for children and adults of all ages.
No artistic skills is necessary.
Helps with issues including but not limited to: low self-esteem, anger, depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, PTSD, chronic illness, cognitive impairment, developmental disabilities/delays, grief and loss, dementia and much more.
Art therapy session can occur simultaneously with traditional therapy for a limited time or as a primary means of therapy.

FACTS ABOUT ART THERAPY
It is an established mental health profession that has been around since the 1940s.
The art you represent is authentic to you and hence, there is no right way or wrong way to do so.
You do not need to be proficient in art making or have a background in drawing.
Not every session involves art.
Art therapy is not a modality but a mental health profession.
Art Therapy combined with Life Coaching is a great tool that helps Release pain, Process emotions, Find clarity and meaning.
Whether or not you engage in therapy, why not keep a journal or book where you can draw daily and just create something? Art itself is therapy whether it’s gardening, crochet, knitting, collage or clay. It’s the process of shutting down the outside world and being present for yourself.
